This consumer report provides actual feedback from buyers of the Bowflex Xceed Plus Home Gym.

Product Description

"The Bowflex Xceed Plus Home Gym includes a lat tower, squat station, leg attachment and adjustable pulley system for over 65 gym-quality exercises. It comes standard with 310 pounds of real Power Rod resistance. The integrated lat tower with angled lat bar helps to build back and shoulder muscles quickly.

The upper and lower pulley/squat station enables you to do squats and build your gluts, hamstrings and quads. The Xceed also has multiple cable/pulley positions for custom workouts. With the included abs attachment, you’ll be able to perform ab crunch exercises like in the gym.

Advanced engineering allows you to get great results fast by specifically targeting abdominal and core muscles, and it also works great for lower back extension exercises. A locking mechanism allows easy in, easy out access, and a foam chest pad provides large, comfortable area to push on." Amazon

Feedback & Overview
Actual Customer Feedback:
Bowflex exceed plus, July 4, 2008

I had mixed feelings because you have to constantly adjust the cables between exercises which I knew I wouldn't like and I don't. The machine is very versatile and you can preform numerous types of exercises which target different muscle groups. The Gym Style Ab Attachment is a huge let down for me so far. It simple does not provide the resistance that I am used to from going to a gym. I am going to try attaching more rods when I use this feature but I have not been motivated to attach the seat and cables. I quit going to the gym when I tore my shoulders up two years ago. I simple cannot let all of my hard "getting in shape" work continue to vanish and this is a good alternative. I should have purchased the more expensive Bowflex that did not require the cable changes.

As good as it gets for the price, July 25, 2008

We've had this gym for about three weeks now. It's def not like working out in a gym. I have not worked out in several years, just had a baby but somehow on this machine I can do 100lbs when doing bicep curls! Something doesn't seem right there. I could never do more than 30lbs at the gym. Overall I am satisfied with the bowflex. It takes a few tries to get used to switching the cords around for your workout, but after you get it you'll be switching around with ease.

Great machine, June 1, 2008

This is basically a bowflex xtreme that has an added 100 lbs and comes with a gym like ab cruch. if you check on amazon for a bowlfex xtreme you would find it cost the same price as this xceed and only having 210lbs. the extras you get with the xceed cost over $300 so if you want to buy an xtreme for $999 and pay $300 more for the extras then go order the xtreme. if not then buy this which comes with the extras and save $300

Bottom line: Good value

A solid, versatile unit from Bowflex and generally well received although some buyers found the ab attachment a let down.
