Schwinn 230 recumbent bike- Arrived on time in good condition. Assembly took some time but the instructions were clear to follow. Very pleased with the bike. Good exercise, quiet operation-one can easily watch TV while working hard.

Very nice assembly instructions. It took me about an hour at a casual pace. Very solid construction. Smooth noise free operation. Nice resistance.Comfortable. Basically I really like the unit. There is however one thing that's driving me bonkers. During your workout it beeps every few seconds. There's no mention of it in the manual. After just a few days I'm considering finding the speaker and snipping the wire. I read while I'm on it and I can't stand the beeping, and I have no idea what it's trying to tell me anyway. "I'm alive! I'm alive!" ??? Annoying, otherwise I'd give 5 stars.

Great bike, Lousy Packaging, January 10, 2009
My bike arrived on the day Amazon said it would. But my UPS driver didn't get here until 7 PM. So even though he agreed with me that the box was damaged and I took a picture of him and it, he left before I started unpacking it. The plastic housing that covers the fly wheel and pedals on the right side is cracked. Also the stablilizer screw and plastic yoke on the inside of the end cap of the rear stabilizer is broken. The bike itself went together easily during the rest of the evening. It is absolutely silent, comfortable and seductive. Everytime I walk through the living room it entices me to go for another little 15 minute ride on one of the programs. They range the gamut from 'Ride in the Park' to 'Pike's Peak' ! When I'm doing my "R and R" (reading and riding) the time just flys by. It is a snap to increase or decrease the resistance level in the middle of a program if I feel more or less bionic. My conclusions are that this is a WONDERFUL machine, but Schwinn needs to step up and redesign their packaging. It arrives in one of those boxes made out of recycled paper, which is flimsy to begin with. The machine weighs about 119 pounds and ideally would be shipped in two separate boxes with plastic parts well separated from heavier metal parts. The way they are shipping it now is not healthy for the poor delivery people and not fair to the consumer who wants a 'new, undamaged' product.
