A great elliptical trainer for the price!, November 21, 2007
It has a very smooth ride and feels very sturdy even when I ride it at a quick rate. I'm 215 lbs and I have it set up on Berber carpet and it still feels very sturdy! The assembly took me about 2 hours and it wasn't very difficult. Schwinn did a good job of packing all of the nuts and washers in a very organized way where there is no doubt what is what. The instructions were very easy to follow and didn't require any tools other than the ones included in the box. I'm very happy with this unit. It has a wonderful selection of 20 different programs built in and has 16 levels of resistance as well. The heart rate monitor is well placed and seems to work well for me.

Originally, I had wanted a Life Fitness but couldn't bring myself to spending over 3,000.00 on an elliptical while I still have my health club membership. So, I went to the local sporting goods stores, fitness stores and anywhere else they sold ellipticals to try other brands. I was quite surprised and very pleased with the Schwinn 431. Then, time for research, I check the web for all comments, reviews, etc. and found this one to be well liked for the money. Next step, price comparison! Wow, Amazon.com had a deal I couldn't pass up! Free Shipping, AND an additional 100.00 Off the price. I ordered immediately and within a week I was working out at home! Thanks for the Great Deal Amazon!

Wonderful and stable piece of equiptment, September 28, 2008
I read probably 100 reviews before purchasing an elliptical machine. I went to a variety of stores to try out various models and manufacturers. I finally decided on this model based solely on reviews and the price. I quickly learned that if you bought too cheap of a model the quality really suffered. On the other hand, it was also easy to over pay. This is a great easy to use piece of equipment. It did take me several hours to put together by myself, but it was well worth it.
